NWCL 1

Colne FC 3 - 0 Nantwich T

Colne Stretched their unbeaten run to 14 Games.
On 8 minutes, Jason Heffernan was holted just outside the area and  from the resulting free kick Steve cunningham found the corner ith another great free kick with the keeper helpless. The first half was all Colne, but failed to extend their lead.Carl Howarth had the best chance to extend when he was clean through and shot accross the goal wide.
The second half wasn't helped by the worsening condition of the pitch, but it was Nantwich Town who looked more dangerous on the break, but didn't test Ross Baxter. Fresh legs were introduced for the last 15 minutes, and two late goals came as Nantwich tired. Howarth rounded off a run into the area, sidestepped the keeper and slotted the ball into the net. With 2 minutes to go Scott Gizon brought a good save off the keeper, but the ball luckilly rebounded back to him and he slotted home the third.

FA CARLSBERG VASE

Colne FC 1-1 Stone Dominoes FC AET

Replay:

Stone Dominoes FC  0 - 1 Colne FC
Chris Ingham, the NWCL player of the month has put Colne through to the fourth round of the Vase against Bodrin. Colne Dominated for large parts of the game and could of, and probably should of had more.
Colne earned themselves to a place in to the last 32 of the FA Carlsberg Vase after some quality football, determination and a magnificent goalkeeping display by man of the match Ross Baxter.
The game, reminiscent of the fighting spirit shown in last years cup run, was completely dominated by the reds in an excellent first half display.
It took 12 minutes for Colne to break the deadlock, unlike Saturdays game between the two, wher it took 110 minutes for Dominoes to score, only for Ian Simpson to score in front of the Red Army. On 12 minutes Colne ended some brilliant football with Ingham scoring past Hackney the helpless Dominoes keeper after a neat pass by James Webster.
Dominoes tried to get one back and nearly did so, but for Ross Baxter to make a superb flying save in the top corner.
Forsyth picked up an injury and was replaced by Steve 'Rave-on' Cunningham. Colne then put more pressure on  Dominoes and produced two quick corners with Ian Simpson going close on the second delivery by James Webster.
Captain Jason Heffernan was next to create an opening for ingham and Carl Howarth went close with a fine effort. Half time came with the reds dominating.
Colne had no easy game on their hands now, Dominoes were going to do all they can to get back into the game. Webby went close early on in the second half with a looping vollet, but hackney saved well. It then turned into a battle in the midfield, but Colne remained resolute.
The hosts thhrew everything they could at the reds, in the last 20 minutes Baxter made 2 top class saves to keep colne in the lead, tipping over a point blank header and getting down low to save a powerfull drive from 12 yards.
The final whistle came and the travelling Red Army celebrated and cheered the reds of the field.
